Random Thoughts and Stuff #1

I say number 1 because I’m pretty sure that I’ll have a lot of these. I do this if I can’t sleep because something is flying around my brain wanting me to write it down. My ideas are restless and they won’t let me rest until I give them their space on paper. I guess that is why I start way more stories than I really should.

So, let’s detail my day. Or my yesterday? Why not.
Okay.
So four time zones
Three airports
Two plane rides
AND
One bus ride later
Plus a drive to Olive Garden

And my Spring Break is over.

So, what is there to show for all of it?

Some pictures of a church, my pants not fitting the way I like, and a few pages in my notebook scribbled in code that will somehow turn into a story.

But the point of this is…
Random thoughts. On my plane ride and bus ride (basically every moment I wasn’t knocked out) I started to think. And I made a list.

Warning: Spoilers for Supernatural 4x16 and 24 Season 1

1) What is Misha Collins’ natural hair color? I mean, we’ve seen him as a blonde, as a red head, and as a brunette. Which one is the real Misha Collins? I don’t know. I want to say the dark brown hair (ie. Castiel). I hope it's that one. If not, I'm still a fan.

I mean, I'm not trying to be a stalker or anything, I'm just really curious to know.

2) So, what better way to spend a Spring Break then to just watch a lot of TV. And I did. I ended up watching 24. You guys know where I’m going with this, hopefully. So, I was tempted to just go to the episodes that MC was in, but I couldn’t because I started the season and I knew that it wouldn’t make any sense if I just skipped around. I honestly went back and forth between disc 2 and disc 4 about five times. Because I’m weak… But I did manage to stay in order.

So about 24. I honestly loved the character of ALEXIS DRAZEN. I mean, of course because he’s played by MC, but there was just something about him that I felt for.

I guess I could say SPOILERS FOR 24

Okay, so first of all, I choose a favorite actor by the way they portray being injured or dying (we know that MC can do injured amazingly, I mean, come on, I hold my breath with every fight I see Castiel get into).

I have to say that Alexis Drazen is a bad ass!!! His first real scene where he blows up something and shoots someone in the face. And then he goes and charms the pants off some girl… Geez.

I felt for Alexis. Especially after he talks to his father over the phone. The dialogue between the two of them is heartbreaking.
When he tells his father that he got in trouble because of women, I smiled. That charmer.
When he said that he failed his father, I choked up a bit. For some reason, I just imagined Castiel saying that to someone. Dean maybe?
And when he told his father to go on without him. Teared up a bit.
AND THEN… when his father made him say that he was strong enough and he agreed. BAWLING.
WHY MUST YOU TOY WITH MY HEARTSTRINGS ALEXIS DRAZEN!
I honestly think that he was a really complex character even though he was only on the show for what seemed less than half an hour.

I stopped watching after he died.

3) I have Supernatural Season 4 on my iPod because it’s just so amazing and I love watching it every chance that I get.

There is something about On The Head of a Pin that’s been really bothering me.

SPOILERS AHEAD:

So, it comes when Castiel and Uriel are fighting (which I still can’t get over because I desperately want Uriel to be a good guy). So after Uriel hits Castiel with a pipe (or pot… we’ll just settle for a metal object) and Castiel falls to his knees.

So the dialogue goes a little something like this after a series of punches:

Castiel: You can’t win Uriel. I still serve God.

Uriel: You haven’t even met the man.

Then Uriel goes on to punching Castiel in the face.

So, here is my deal.

DID CASTIEL’S WORDS SOUND LOADED TO ANYONE ELSE?

I mean, maybe it’s just me. But it sounded like there is a lot more to Castiel than anyone knows. It seemed like he carried a lot more weight in this war than everyone is giving him credit for.

Then again, I do watch the show and his scenes with the assumption that he is the son of God (if you don’t get that from the story that I’m writing right now, it’s okay). It makes the show a little more fun for me.

Maybe I’m just reading way too much into that line. But it seems like he just plays a major part in this war. Like where he fights could be a determining factor. Like the war won't be won by evil as long as he's fighting on the side of good. I guess in my head he is just as important as the brothers.

That being said, I really hope he stays good. And I honestly do not want him to fall.

4) Okay… so I was on the Supernatural message boards awhile back and I was reading about if it’s possible to be a Christian and watch this show. I was raised Catholic and Methodist. I went to a Catholic school my entire life. I don’t have a problem with this show.

But I guess that has to do with the fact that at some point in my life when I wanted to become a writer.
I learned literary license.
I learned suspension of disbelief.
I learned to just be entertained.

Why can’t people just watch the show to watch the show? It’s an hour of two brothers kicking ass and taking names. An hour where the good guys should come out on top, but sometimes don’t. And that’s okay.

I mean, yeah, I get mad when something just doesn’t add up, but to bring my faith into this? Get out of here. Why would I ruin a good time watching TV?

GAH! Random thoughts over. My brain is tired and I can barely keep my eyes open. If this makes no sense at all, then I think I’ve done my job.

This is the randomness that is DauntPerplexity…
